A Malayalam AI voice agent for your business phone
Most voice AI is built for English and treats every other language as a translation problem. VokaLQ answers in Malayalam because that is the language its callers use, including the Malayalam-English mix people actually speak on the phone rather than the formal Malayalam nobody uses to book a haircut. Sold as an AI receptionist, searched for as a calling agent — the same thing either way.
In short
- Answers business calls in Malayalam, including Manglish — Malayalam grammar with English words in it.
- Malayalam is handled directly rather than translated into English and back.
- Also speaks English, Tamil, Hindi and Arabic; the caller’s first turn sets the language.
- Books appointments, captures enquiries, and writes the call into a CRM.
- There is a public demo number on the home page that answers in Malayalam right now.

Manglish is the real language of the phone call
Listen to any business call in Kerala and it switches language mid-sentence. The greeting is Malayalam, the date is English, the price is Malayalam again. A system that can only handle one language at a time forces the caller to pick, and the caller usually picks hanging up.
VokaLQ is built for the way the call actually goes. The caller speaks however they speak, and it keeps up.
What it does on a Malayalam call
The same as on any other call. It answers in under a second, opens with a recording disclosure, understands what the caller wants, books the appointment into your calendar, and writes the conversation into your CRM.
The transcript and the CRM record are readable afterwards, so a Malayalam call is not a black box for anyone on your team who works in English.
- Answers in Malayalam, English, Tamil, Hindi or Arabic, matching the caller.
- Handles Malayalam-English code-switching inside a single sentence.
- Books, reschedules and cancels appointments during the call.
- Captures the caller and the intent into the CRM.
- Follows up afterwards without being asked.
Accents, not just vocabulary
A Malayalam speaker from Kannur and one from Thiruvananthapuram do not sound the same, and a system tuned on textbook audio struggles with both. VokaLQ is being tuned on the languages, accents and hours of businesses in Kerala, which is where it is launching first.
Where a translation layer breaks
The usual way to support Malayalam is to translate it into English, work in English, and translate the reply back. It holds up until the sentence stops being entirely Malayalam, which is most sentences.
Take a caller asking for an appointment "naale evening, six manikk". The date word is Malayalam, the time of day is English, the hour is Malayalam again. A translation layer has to decide what language that sentence is before it can process it, and whichever it picks, half the sentence is wrong.
Brand and product names break it in the other direction. A caller naming a treatment, a model number or a company in English inside a Malayalam sentence gets it translated into something that was never said, and the booking is then made against a service you do not offer.
VokaLQ works on the sentence as spoken rather than deciding first what language it is in. The caller is never asked to repeat themselves in one language, which is the point at which people put the phone down.
