A Malayalam AI calling agent for your business phone

VokaLQ answers your business number in Malayalam, in under a second, at any hour. Not Malayalam translated from English after the fact — the caller speaks Malayalam and the reply comes back in Malayalam, including the half-English sentences everybody actually uses on the phone. It books the appointment during the call and writes down who rang and what they wanted.

Answering in Malayalam, not translating into it

Most systems that claim Malayalam are doing something else underneath. They detect a language, translate the caller into English, decide what to say in English, and translate back. It works on a clean sentence read from a script and falls apart on a phone call.

It fails in a specific way, too. Translation has to pick a source language before it can start, and half of what people say on a Kerala phone call has no single source language. It also mangles proper nouns: a treatment name, a product, a place, anything English sitting inside a Malayalam sentence comes back out as a different word.

VokaLQ handles the Malayalam directly rather than routing it through English, which is why it survives the sentences the other approach breaks on.

Manglish is the normal case, not the edge case

Nobody rings a business and speaks textbook Malayalam. They say "രാവിലെ 10 മണിക്ക് ഒരു appointment കിട്ടുമോ?" — Malayalam grammar, English nouns, switching mid-sentence without noticing.

Systems built elsewhere treat that as a degraded input to be cleaned up. It is not degraded; it is the language. This is the register the product was tuned on, because it is the one that arrives on the phone.

The same holds for numbers, which is where most voice systems in India quietly lose money. Phone numbers said in mixed Malayalam and English, amounts, dates and times all get read back to the caller for confirmation rather than assumed, because a misheard digit turns a booking into a customer nobody can reach.

What happens on the call

The call is answered on the first ring, whatever the hour, and however many people ring at the same time. It opens with a spoken notice that the call is being recorded.

The caller says what they want. It offers a time, books it, confirms the details back, and sends the confirmation to their WhatsApp so they have it in writing. If the call needs a person — a clinical question, a negotiation, anything requiring judgement — it takes the details and hands over a written summary with a callback task, rather than leaving thirty seconds of audio for somebody to decipher in the morning.

Afterwards the whole conversation is a record: the transcript, the recording, the caller’s number, what they wanted, and what was agreed. Nobody types any of it.

What it still gets wrong

Heavy background noise degrades accuracy, and a busy shop or a road is exactly where a lot of these calls come from. An unfamiliar proper noun — a rare surname, a small place name, a product only you sell — is still sometimes a coin flip on the first attempt.

The design decision that follows from that is to ask rather than guess. A number or a name that came through with low confidence gets read back for confirmation, which costs the caller three seconds and saves a booking that would otherwise be attached to a wrong number.

It is worth testing this yourself rather than taking our word for it. The demo number on the home page answers live, and speaking to it the way your customers speak is a better test than any claim on this page.

FAQ

Malayalam calling agent: common questions

Is there an AI calling agent that speaks Malayalam?

Yes. VokaLQ answers business calls in Malayalam, including mixed Malayalam and English, and replies in the language the caller opens with. It books appointments during the call and writes the conversation to a CRM record. There is a public demo number on the home page that answers in Malayalam.

Does it understand Manglish, or only formal Malayalam?

Manglish is the case it was built for. Most systems detect a single language per sentence before processing, which is exactly the assumption code-switching breaks. VokaLQ handles Malayalam directly rather than translating through English, so a sentence with English nouns and Malayalam grammar is the normal input rather than an error.

Can it take bookings in Malayalam over the phone?

Yes. It offers a time, books it into the calendar during the call, reads the details back for confirmation, and sends the confirmation to the caller’s WhatsApp. Rescheduling and cancellation work the same way.

Will it answer at night and on Sundays?

Yes, around the clock, and to more than one caller at a time — how many at once is set by your plan. After-hours calls are the ones most likely to be lost permanently, since a caller with a problem at 9pm usually has four other numbers in front of them.

How much does a Malayalam AI calling agent cost?

Plans start at ₹5,499 per month plus a one-time setup fee from ₹3,000. Plans are sized by call volume rather than by number of users. Only the entry price is published; tiers above it are quoted per business.

Does it work with my existing phone number?

Yes. Setup connects your existing business number rather than issuing a new one for customers to learn, and getting the telephony right is most of what the setup fee covers.
